Does anyone know when QARW above was built in north shields and by who?
-
Hi Brian
Looking at it on Street View, it looks as if the houses were built 1930s - 1950s. I have to speak to our solicitor in N Shields next week so will ask him :)

Thanks so they weren't on 1901 or 1911 census prob farm land around that time

Hi Brian
There are some houses that look like they might be Edwardian at one end of the road but I think that they are QA Rd rather than QAR West.
Do you have a number/name of anyone who might have lvied there then or are you just trying to find out about them generally?

It was just a general question someone was asking when it was built

I've just been looking at the old-maps web site and there's nothing much even up to 1938. Alexander Road is there but not many houses on the west extention.

when does Walton Avenue appear opposite Preston cemetery?
-
You could try yourself, Brian
Go to www.old-maps.co.uk
put in North Shields. Press Go. Navigate to Walton avenue on the modern map that comes up. Then click on Walton avenue or Preston Cemetery.
Then choose a map date from the ones that are on the top right hand and go through them until Walton Avenue shows up.
