My grandfather had some cousins who lived in Cambois around about 1900.I think their surname was Churnside. Also,I believe,2 were killed in WW1.Does anyone know of someone of that name living in Cambois at that time?

Hi,
CWGC has 4 Churnside deaths:

You might find some connections; if you click on the name you will find more details.

There's a few Churnsides living in Northumberland in 1900, can you be more specific on names/dob.

I don't have any more details, other than they lived in Cambois around 1900-1914?Would any census throw up more info?Thankyou.

Looking at 1901 census may help to narrow the field, might jog a memory or two :) What's your grandfather's details someone may be able to work sideways from that to find cousins etc.

I went to school in Cambois in the 1960's 1970' and had a Karen Churnside in my class and her brother Jimmy was a couple of years younger. They lived at what we called the Wembley end of Cambois, up around Wembley Terrace near the River Wansbeck.

Hi,
Checked for Churnside but couldn't see any obvious ones in the 1901 census. Tried Chirnside and found at least one family. There may be more if you want to check.
