Hello all.
After many years of searching, and a lot of help from others, I have at last found the Discharge Record of William Woodruff in 9 Oct 1873 in Ireland. Not appeared before.
Also, would he have been signed up in Ireland with him being discharged there, not Bombay.
Now I am wondering if anyone can tell me info on his entry into this Regiment.
Buffs (East Kent Regiment) - 3rd Foot. WO121. Corporal.
I particularly wish to know as he is my great grandfather and I can find nothing about him or his parents/siblings before 1857 when he joined the HEIC in Liverpool, and was then transferred to British Army in 1859/60 in Bombay. He says on all census from 1871 that he was born in Glossop Derbyshire. He was married in Limerick Ireland.
Regards,
Margaret

I have those 2 records on the site you indicate. It is the entry at the beginning of service I am really needing. No records for this family in Derbyshire either. Some saying they have been destroyed, so no help there! The discharge one I got from Findmypast for 1873.
I have all other info for him and his family, just the piece missing on his birth details and sign up date and place.
