Hello,
Please could someone lookup on the 1891 census Minnie Frost b. c1873 St. Pancras. As she is someones step-daughter, I am curious to know who the family were.
Thanks,
Inchworm

Hi Inchworm
She is living with the Westgarth family with 5 other step daughters & sons with the same surname of Frost. If you'd like a copy of the census page, I can email it to you?

I'm not sure Inchworm saw your message - can you cut and paste the Westgarth info from 1891 - that way we can all have a look !!
Cheers

Hello Biker,
No, sadly I have never found this Minnie Frost after the 1881 Census. Her and her brother seem to have just disappeared. :(
Would really like to find them though. :'(

Inchworm

Pity that Inchworm, she is probably up the pub with some of my missing scoundrel Webbs ;D
I'll leave this 'live' and I'll come back to it another time as I'm sure I looked in every crevice before as many others did too, alas without success so far ....
Chin up ;)

Hi Inchworm,
Its been a long while between posts, I know! but I have just re-read these messages and had a look at the 1881 census re Minnie FROST....I am trying to figure out why the Minnie FROST in 1881 is not the same girl in 1891 with the WESTGARTHS.......if her mother wasn't Ellen, do you know what it was?
Also - what was her brother's name?
Maybe we can reopen this mystery
Cheers

Yes please, I would love some help to find her and her brother. *desperate*
I have still not located them after the 1881 Census. Minnie Frost was born Sep. 1879 St. Saviour, Southwark. Her mother was Sarah, father was Peveril Frost. They had moved to Pancras by the 1881 Census.
In Dec 1881 her brother Peveril was born in Radstock, Somerset.
I have not found Sarah, the mother, after baby Peveril's birth. Don't know if she was even alive. There is a death for a Sarah Frost 1882 (Dec) St. Olave, Southwark, which is the closest fit. Although the age is about 4 years out.
Her "husband" (they never married) Peveril had more children with my Grt. Grandmother, from 1884 onwards and he married her in 1885 Derby.

Inchworm :)

Hi again,
The 1879 birth date clears things up! I seem to recall doing some research on Peveril - may have to check what I did ages ago....if Sarah died, you would think Minnie would be with her dad in 1891, but maybe her mother's family took her in...will keep looking!

Sarah's parents were already dead. They came from Somerset. She was the youngest of 12 Rossiter children. I have managed to trace about half of her siblings and Minnie and brother Peveril were not with them either. :(

Hi again,
I checked Free BMD and found a Minnie Maud FROST got married June Qtr 1901 in Frome, Somerset....possibly to Edwin ROSSITER!!! I then checked 1901 and it appears she is a cook - born Camberwell, living in Frome aged 20.....hope this solves one mystery....the other one re her brother Peveril..my guess is he died as a baby because his cad of a father went on to call another son with ??/th wife the same name.
Cheers

I have checked out this Minnie Maud Frost. She is not mine, just a coincidence. I have also looked in the death registers for Eng. & Wales for Peverils death for the next 100 years - couldn't find him.
Peveril (my Grt Grandfather ) had 3 more sons called Peveril that died as babies/children. He had 4 wives, the last one (my Grt Grandmother) he married when he was 35. So far I have found 15 children for him. ;)

what a nightmare.....pity about Minnie - so close eh!
I think I would start looking up court records for this Peveril...could prove to be quite interesting!
Good luck

Hi Inchworm.
I have just been reading your post with interest as I have a Peveril Frost (1850-1921) in my family tree. If it is the same one he and Loiusa Colver were my great great grandparents.

Have you contacted me before perhaps.? Poss. through Genes Reunited.
Where is your connection? :)

I've contacted a few people through GR so it is possible.
I picked up this thread doing a search for Peveril Frost as I too am quite intrigued about the number of wives he had. I'm pariculary interested to find out what happened to his son Frederick Henry Frost (my great grandfather) as he followed in his fathers footsteps by walking out his young family when my grandmother was still a toddler. Nobody seems to know what happend to him but the feeling is that he went abroad as we have been unable to trace him anywhere.
