Hi, my grandad is David Jon Robert Luellin Jones. He married Patricia Harpur-Dixon, she is Scottish and Maori, her tribe is Ngai Tahu. their daughter is my mum. my mum doesn't know her dads ancestors, she only knows that his mum is Amid Mae.
My dad has done most of his family history of his parents, but now I need to continue his side and my mother's side. My granddad's name is such a common name, there are so many David John Jones on the ancestry.com site. There is so many to research.
Both my mum's parents lived in Rotorua NZ when they passed away.They were known as Pat and Taffy to our family.

What year was David born? his mother was Amid? Mae? no fathers name?

You may need to buy a transcript of the death certificate to get the information it contains IE: the parents of the deceased.
Doing your family tree requires some monetary outlay, you can keep it to a minimum but essential certs are necessary, this one would be a requirement if right person.

There are 11 David Jones under 3 years born Glamorganshire Cardiff Wales in the 1911 Census, none of which are your Grandfather?

There is a marriage in 1926 Cardiff Wales of a David R Jones to a Spouse with the Surname Llewellyn. This seems to make some sense of the name. Volume 11a Page 761. You would need the cert for the Full name of spouse. Whoops nup found it. :o Catherine B Llewellyn ;D Married David R Jones.

NZ deaths index lists David as simply David John Jones and shows his birthdate as 1st.Feb 1909. Wife Patricia's birth date is given as 2nd August 1912 (not 1913).
You say his mother was Annid Mae ?? This doesn't seem to be a valid set of Christian names and wonder if it is supposed to be Annie May?
As Neil Todd has already stated, there seems to be no David Jones born Cardiff 1909 that remotely fits the information you have unfortunately.
Do you know when he arrived in NZ?

So David was probably illegitimate? and may not have been registered with the Jones surname?

there's only one David John + surname registered march quarter 1909 in the Cardiff registration district, he was David John Enoch and he married in the same registration district in the 1930s.

Then a long list of Martin people - seemingly all unrelated to the first two names?
I have no idea what it is you actually want?! ;D
Incidentally, you won't have any descendants (unless you have children) - so I assume you are looking for information on your ancestors! ;D

James William Martin and Eliza King, Elizabeth Avery and her children, I have no other info on them, their spouse and any children, birth, marriage and death dates if possible, and for Gertrude, Annie, Ernest, James Martin, Samuel Mihaka Martin also.
Henrietta and Richard Henderson Smith are the parent of Charles Arthur Smith, who is my dad's father. I would like to find Charles Siblings, his parents got a divorce when he was young, and he stayed with his mum all his other siblings went with the father. Their names are: Maud born 20 November 1897, Richard Henderson born 19 June 1898, Ellen born 1901, Donald born 23 August 1900, Nellie stillborn no birth/death dates, Alexander John Matheson born 1 May 1903, Catherine Drysdale born 19 December 1904. I received a 36 page document on their divorce from a family member of Henrietta. Would love to find anything about his siblings.

Hi Carol, I am not sure exactly where you are up to particularly with your Dad's research. It may be best if you do some of this yourself get it into some form of organised family tree and set out the descendants into family groups.
Best start point is a notepad and pencil and concentrate on one family at a time, it will all fall into place eventually. If you get to a particular person and get stumped then get back online and we can try and solve the "brickwall" for you. ;D
