Title: Correct REgistration District for Ashton Under Lyne

I am looking for a birth record for Frances (Fanny) Edwards Jones re Census 1871 she was born in Ashton under Lyne c. 1853. There is an entry in free BMD Jun 1853 in Oldham Reg District . Would this be the correct district for Ashton?

In 1853 - Ashton under Lyne was it's own registration district

Failure to register a birth only became a fineable offence in 1874 so there are a great many unregistered births

I can't see an 1861 entry under Edwards or Jones.  When did her parents marry?

It's odd because Frances Jones 1853 Oldham doesn't show on Lancashire BMD for Oldham nor with Cheshire BMD for Tameside (Ashton).
Her baptism at St Michael's Ashton shows parents as John James Jones and Louisa.

She was registered in Middleton which now comes under Rochdale.

Is this the family you are looking for? I don't think that this is  Fanny Edwards Jones , the parents are both different.
