Title: Great Yarmouth Naval Asylum
Post by: JohnSpr on Sunday 23 February 14 09:04 GMT (UK)
Would anyone know if there are any archive records for Great Yarmouth Naval Asylum (now St. Nicholas Hospital) from around the 1880s.  Getting a bit stuck, and cannot seem to locate anything. Any help would be much appreciated

Hi John,

Records look quite sparse.  The Norfold Record Office only hold admission registers 1907-1916 and 1973-1983, although some records may be held at the National Achives.

Thank you all, it is very much appreciated

The year in question would be 1888 - I have a feeling the records are long gone now, oh well - always something else to look for!

Did anyone have any luck with this, as I am looking for the father of John Alden (Fisherman) living at Row 112, Naval Asylum address in 1865
All I know his name was also John Alden (Blacksmith) married to Mary Ann Barnaby 1824
Perhaps living at the same address
Mary had a sister Elizabeth Barnaby married to John Callow 1824
