Looking for info on this maternal ancestor - he married Ruth Bryant (b. 1692) in Ireland and they had several children, whom they brought with them to America after 1725 or so. I'm trying to find info on his family in Ireland -- family lore says that he came from Londonderry, but this is not proven yet.
Any suggestions for how we can do that?

Nope - nothing new on this, so far. I've hit a similar roadblock on my paternal line, back in Ireland, and even an Irish researcher couldn't help me out, some years back -- too many Protestant church records have been burned, in addition to the records' office fire that wiped out a lot of info.
Can you suggest any other sites where I might get a hit? I've been surprised not to hear back from someone, on this site, as I've been able to get a lot of info from others using the site, on other individuals.
