Hi
I am hoping someone maybe able to help :(. I am looking for the family of Kathleen Amelia Connor.
I know she was born in Windsor,Berkshire in 1879 but everywhere I have looked I cannot find her family. Not even her mother's maiden name. In the birth records her mother's name is not added.
know this is a shot in the dark but wondered if some kind person would have a look for me please.
TIA :)

Hi
Have you got her birth certificate?
You can order it from the General Register Office (www.gro.govuk) costs £9.25 using this reference
Jun 1879
Connor, Kathleen Amelia, Windsor 2c 452
The birth index before 1911 does not show the mothers maiden surname, but the certificate should.

Hi Guys
Thank you all for the information which was really quick :) :) :) :)
I will certainly get her birth certificate, as I think that will help a lot.
I did wonder where the name Maurice came from. My grandfather was Thomas Maurice and then my father is named Maurice.Looking at Kathleen's uncle coming from Ireland I am wondering too if she was born in Ireland.
I now have a lot of names and births, marriages and deaths to look further into and all Thanks to you Guys.
I will also look into the army connection for her father.
Once again
Thank you all
Keep up the good work
Best wishes

Just in case you are not aware of it, there are 13 pages of Thomas' Army Record, while serving in the Grenadier Guards. available on Find my Past. This not only has details of his and Kathleen's children, dates of birth etc, but a date and place of their marriage, and also provides family details for Thomas - father, mother, brothers and sister.
While in the Grenadier Guards Thomas saw active service in the Sudan.

Hello Snazzy
Just a little piece of information which might help. I'll start with the earliest date so please bear with me:
On 29 Oct 1826 Caroline Amelia PULLIN, dau of John and Sarah (Maria) PULLIN was baptised at Kintbury, Berks. At the time of the 1841 census Caroline was a servant in the household of Charles GOODHART, a clerk, in Castle Street, Reading. On 15 March 1846 she married Henry COOPER at St Dunstan, Stepney and they subsequently move to Windsor where, according to the census, Henry had been born. Whilst living in Windsor they have a number of children, including Louisa who was born about 1854.
In the December Qtr of 1876, Windsor Registration District, Louisa COOPER married Frederick William CONNOR. A few years later, in the March Qtr of 1880, Eton Registration District, Caroline Amelia COOPER married Peter CONNOR. So, when Caroline and Peter are living with Louisa in 1901, Peter is correctly described as Louisa' father in law as this was often used instead of step father. Caroline, however, should have been described as Louisa's mother.
