Thank you for the help. Stephen the son was married in London in 1875 and then on to South Australia. His marriage cert says his father was Stephen Wall deceased but Ii am thinking this may just be repeating the grooms name. i have had no luck so far.
Kind Regards,Sue

PS The death 1865 could be the father but how can I be sure? There was a Stephen ch 1851 but he has a father Robert. Looks like i will have to try and put all the families with a Stephen in them together and hopefully have one left at the end (mine)!

Not sure if it helps any but the Stephen Wall marriage in 1883 has father Robert Wall. The marriage was in Trinity Without Parish which is in Waterford city.

Perhaps if you got the 1865 death cert it would give you a townland and then you might be able to locate church records for baptisms to see if this man had a son Stephen ,there might also be a family member as informant for the death, plus his status married or widower.
