I'm tracing my Keeble roots... I have traced my ancestors as far as 1826. My great great grandfather Francis Keeble b 1828 (ish) in stradbroke Suffolk. He moved to Hastings after 1872 with his 7 children to become a milk man/farmer in Sussex, his children married in Hastings. My great grandfather was Charles William Keeble b 1866 married Emily Farnfield, they had 7 children, my grandfather Frank met his wife Lilian Reading after ww1 in Warrington and they married and moved to Widnes, my father frank was b 1923 in Widnes ...hoope someone can help fill in some gaps with Francis' family

Hi Fiona
I had a look at Stradbroke parish register but couldn't find a baptism for Francis. A John and Anne Keeble were baptising children in the parish at this time: John 7/11/1830, Ann 16/9/1832 and Sarah 4/5/1834.
I looked prior to 1828 but couldn't see a Francis at all. Also no marriage at Stradbroke for John and Anne.
A John Keeble married an Ann Howard of Linstead Magna at Linstead Parva on 3rd March 1828.
Both signed X, witnesses George Howard and Lucy Howard, both signed X.
Banns 17 Feb, 24 Feb, 2 March 1828
I checked baptisms at both Linstead Magna and Linstead Parva 1828-1830 in case Francis Keeble had been born to this couple in a different parish but the baptism wasn't there either.
Not sure if this is any help or not ??? ???

Pretty sure that annes has found the right family.
In 1851 Francis Keable 22 and John Keable 20 are shown as grandsons of Lucy Howard in Stradbroke.
In 1841 Stradbroke, Suffolk - ref. HO107 - 1026 - 6 - 29 - 14
Anne Keable 35
John Keable 11
Sarah Keable 7
Lucy Keable 5
Charles Keable 3
(there is a Francis working as a servant in Stradbroke)
Again, the marriage of a John Keeble to Ann Howard in 1828 would appear to be the right one.
John Keeble bc.1802 was buried 11/4/1838 Stradbroke.
There is an entry on familysearch which is a bit intriguing:
From Suffolk Bishops Transcripts - Francis 1828 Stradbrook son of John Howard and Ann!!!

That's interesting Annette!
I wonder why I couldn't see him in the baptism register
I've just re-read this post and noticed the Howard surname which I didn't pick up the first time ::)
Might have to look at the BTs next time ;)
