Title: Henry John Prinsen-1893
Post by: ginny44 on Thursday 06 February 14 17:46 GMT (UK)
Hi

I am hoping someone can help me trace the above man who I believe was born in Holland 1893.  He just seems to have disappeared as I can't find him. I know he married a Margaret Callaghan in Liverpool in 1918, but can't find anything else about him. His grand daughter remembers receiving presents from him addressed from Durban South Africa, when she was small, but nothing else.  I would be grateful for any help at all.

Thank you.

Two births on freebmd in 1918 and 1920

1918 was Henry who died in 1919 buried Yewtree 31.3.1919 but the child born 1920 appears to have married in Liverpool in 1942

Margaret may have re-married in 1923 to Francis Murphy so presumably Henry was deceased but it may be another Margaret Prinsen

Possibly a fireman as in stoker, a term that was used by the Merchant Navy.

 - Harry John Prinsen b. Amsterdam, 1893 is on the medal card database.

That record itself won't give much but there may be more info available in other records:
