Hi guys,
I've tracked my family back as far as Francis Ledger, born in East Retford, Nottinghamshire in 1745.
Christening records indicate he was christened 8 May 1745 with the name "Francis Ledgier", his father being a "Joh. (John) Ledgier"
The Christening records are all I have for a John Ledger (even tried spelling it Ledgier) born in this area in the early 18th century.
I've looked on a few online databases and websites to no avail.
Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction?

The marriage information came from the Nottinghamshire Family History indexes, not all years and parishes have been transcribed yet.
It looks like your Francis also had two brothers?
St Swithun, Retford - father John Ledger
Thomas - 31st Oct 1749
Gervase - 2nd Oct 1751
Here is a link you might like to try to be going on with - useful to see what may be available online.
East Retford & West Retford is on there, it might throw up more results if you just put "ledg*" in the search box :-\

That's really good re the burial, as they're not on the NFHS burial index, they have only been transcribed from 1813 - 1900

WOW. Lots of new information.
I'll have to add this all to my tree when I get a moment. I had Thomas as marrying both an Ann and a Sarah at different times in his life but this is probably wrong of course.
The next step is to find more info on John Ledger. Thanks to Dizzyfish, I have evidence that would indicate he married a Hannah Bailey. Hopefully that link you provided will bring up some Christening Records for him - many thanks!

You may be right that Thomas married twice;
1771 to Sarah BROWN and 1777 to Ann PEARSON, entry on FreeREG does not state if he was Widowed though on 1777 Marriage.
Do you know where Thomas/Sarah were living post 1771?
There is a Burial of a SARAH Ledger, Wife of THOS, 01 Nov 1774, St Peter, Headon-cum-Upton
Abode, Gainesbrough
A LUCY Ledger was Buried 28 July 1774, Daug of THOS/SARAH, same abode
+ a BETTY Ledger, Daug of THOMAS/ANN was Buried St Swithin, East Retford, 22 March 1778
LUCY Baptised St Swithins 17 Dec 1771 to THOMAS/SARAH
BETTY Baptised same Church 23 Feb 1778 to THOMAS/ANN
So looks likely that Thomas Married Sarah and Ann to me.

I googled Nottinghamshire Family History and didnt know what to do on that Society website, if that's where it is... ???

I only have christening records for Thomas and his close family. All other info on this thread, such is burials and wife's maiden names is new and exciting to me!

I've updated my tree with all of this info and found more records too - freeREG is great.
I still haven't found any birth records for John Ledger who married Hannah Bailey 1745 though.
