Post by: GRWL on Monday 03 February 14 14:56 GMT (UK)
Can anyone help in providing any info on  WILLIAM MILLS b 1865 in CRIEFF d in Australia (SYDNEY) on Jan 7th  1887 age 22. Thereis a tombstone marking his grave in Sydney. I have seen a census for 1871 & 1881 of a William Mills from Crieff b 1865 which says he was still in Scotland of cause this could be someone different ?.

  Many thanks GRWL.

Hi GRWL ,

NSW BMD's has 2 deaths for a William Mills in 1887 , one with father John , other father William.
The Registration districts don't mean much to me  ???
Just looking at the free index so no further info.

Hello GRWL,

If you are certain your William Mills, is the son of John Mills, and Isabella Sharp, then this William Mills, born 23/July/1865. in Crieff, Perth, is living at 67 Cedar Street, Glasgow, Lanark, in 1881. with his parents and siblings.

William Mills, married Isabella Sharp, 13/July/1855. Perth. This couple had nine children that i can see.

Regards,
Jonn.

i believe this William Mills was my great-grandfather’s brother.
John Mills was born in Crieff and came to Australia in the late 1800s (unsure of dates).
His brother William was to follow him but tragically died in the quarantine station upon arrival in Australia.
