Hello
I am trying to find information on Arthur Carisford Cooper who spent time in Menzies around the 1899-1904. He married a Caroline D'Arbou at some stage. I have no idea where to start this search. He seems to have just disappeared after about 1904.
Any ideas please.
Thanks

Writing of Coolgardie reminds me of my old friend Arthur Carisford Cooper, who, a good many years ago was mine host of the long departed Gaiety Hotel, which stood in Castlereagh-street, next to the ancient Gaiety Theatre, afterwards the dreadful Gaiety Athletic “Club” which has given place to the magnificent Guild Hall of the Hibernian Society, was the town clerk of Coolgardie for a number of years. I wonder if he is still there …….

I note the report of his death was in the Bendigo Advertiser...perhaps he was from Victoria.

I wondered if this is Caroline's burial record. Born c1869

She appears on the electoral rolls as Caroline Blanche COOPER and with occupations nurse and housekeeper.

Certs are a bit pricey in WA but it may help you with your research.
Cheers :)

Thanks heaps. I am now on track. I suspect that Caroline was D'Arbon not D'arbou.
Again thanks for all your assistance.

I am the g grand daughter George Muckle. His daughter Catherine Frances married Thomas Fergus Cooper and they had four children. Does that help you rule out the Muckle family?
