I'm looking for any information on family. I know their are family connections to Hewitts, Wilson and Hall. I have the family tree info from the 1911 and 1901 census. I dont know about siblings but all I know is that ancestors were all James Black (son, father, grandfather etc).
-
"Looking for any information" is rather vague. can you tell us precisely who and what you are looking for?
-
I dont know anything apart from the info on census. James Black married Margaret Hall. his father (james black) married Mary Ann Wilson
-
It does help if you give us the information you already have rather than us having to search for it ourselves. Posting census links is quite easy and means those details are easily looked at.

Hi, I have some information and certificates for the Black/Wilson/Keith/Irwin family. If you want to get in touch I'll be pleased to send them to you. Regards, Shirley

Have just found on Griffiths Valuation:
George Black Brankill
James Black Brankill
John Black Brankill
Mary Black Brankill
William Black Brankill
What should be my next step to find out the relations between them. Im guessing one of them would be James father. What exactly is the Griffiths Valuation and what year was it done
-
Griffith's was a survey of property valuations carried out all over Ireland over a period. There's no way to link the people listed anywhere (even in the same townland) to each other. If you use this site you will get the date of the printed valuation (1857 in the case of Brankill)-

What records would be best to look at after the Griffiths valuation to go further back in time?
