Hi.
Can anyone look up Zachariah Davies who lived at the Blue Bell Pub as well as Susannah Jones and Henry Jones and their son John Hill Jones in the 1851 census (Flint/Holywell)? Also, in the 1861 census? (Although not Zacariah as he was dead by this time)? Thank you.

Hi,
Do you have them on any other Census? I could do with a bit more info please. Jones & Davies in Flintshire needles and haystacks come to mind.
Approx age and years might help.
Had a look on North Wales BMD a Zackariah Davies died in 1860.
If you can give me anymore info I don't mind having a look for you.
Paul.

Hi. I am sorry, but I dont actually have any census information on them. I got a marriage certificate, which had Zacariah Davies listed as father of the bride, got his death certificate (he did indeed die in 1860) and discovered that he died in the Blue Bell, Flint. Looked it up online and found out on a BBC website that Zacariah was a publican at the Blue Bell Pub.
I do know that john Hill jones, the son of Henry and Susunnah was born in 1848 in Flint, though. The birth certificate for John Hill, annoyingly, didn't even give me an address. Just 'Flint.'

Thank you very much for your help!

I do have one question though... did Susannah and Henry really have 2 daughters named Catherine? It seems a bit weird!

I think you will find that the first Catherine (born 1857)
Died and they named the next Daughter (born1861) after her.
People did it quite often in those days.

Yes, that would make sense. I looked up Mary Davies on the 1871 and 1881 census. On the 1871 census, one Sarah Jones, aged 20, her granddaughter was with her. I wondered if it would be possible for you to check the 1861 census for Henry + Susannah and family, to see if she's listed there as a daughter? It seemed like there was a big gap between John Hill (1848) and William (1855). If not, I understand, and I greatly appreciate the help you've given me - there's no way I could've found out all that from here!

Very strange, the Address for all the Children's baptisms is Nailors Row, I can not find Nailors Row on the 1861 Census.
If I go to the Archives this week I'll have another look.
