Hi Folks, I wonder if anyone can help me locate a death for Alfred Ernest Tyson. He was born at Chester-le-Street, Co. Durham in 1899 and the family seem to have had their roots there. I have him on the 1901 and 1911 Census and also his marriage in 1925 at Chester-le-Street to Annie Mole born 1902 at Perkinsville, Chester-le-Street. Alfred Ernest Tyson was informant on his mother's death certificate in 1933, then after that I can find no trace. I have found the death for Annie in 1983 in Chester-le-Street but no sign of Alfred Ernest. I have checked Emmigration Records, Death Records, Wills etc but to no avail. I did find two deaths for an Alfred Ernest Tyson - one in Barrow In Furness, Cumbria, and one in Sunderland, both were purchased but ??? unfortunately both were wrong. I am not really sure where to go from here and would welcome any help or suggestions.
Many thanks,
Doric

Have you eliminated the deaths simply registered as Alfred Tyson?
I don't think there was any particular requirement to register deaths with the person's full name :-\

Hi
Do you have his actual date of birth, have you check the Electoral Register, who was the informant on Annie's death certificate
Margp

Hi
Can you give us the reasons, why you have discounted the death certificates, you have already purchased

Hi Jen and Margp, I have tried every combination I can think of, but not the Electoral Register as I have no access and unable to visit Durham Records Office. I don't know the informant on Annie's death certificate as I have not received it yet. The date of birth for Alfred Ernest Tyson was 15th January, 1899 and he was baptised on 26th February, 1899. Annie and Alfred Ernest had three children the last one being born in 1936, so I am also awaiting that certificate to see if it gives Alfred Ernest's status as (deceased)
The reasons that the other two certificates were discounted Margp was that the on the one from Barrow in Furness, the place of birth differed and the informant of the death was named as sister which also didn't fit. The Sunderland one also was a misfit.
Many thanks for your interest

Wow Margp, Where did you find that one? It could well be him. I have trawled through hundreds and hundreds of death records with every combination I could think of, so somewhere along the line I have missed that one - perhaps I was getting to the point where I was almost 'word blind' That is the correct date of birth so I will order that certificate tomorrow and see where it takes me.
Many many thanks,

That is brilliant, I think I will change over when my current subscription expires. I have been considering another site for some time now because unlike Rootschat, I don't know how many times I have contacted members who have published their trees showing people I am researching and with whom I am willing to share information, most just don't seem to have the courtesy to reply and it really gets to me. You cannot say that about Rootschat, members are wonderful and are always ready to go that extra mile as I am sure others have found the same.
Again many thanks

I think the death in Sunderland is a family I am tracing, was his wife Jane Ann?
