Title: Stettin Pommerania [ancestry fine]
Post by: Delightful Dukkie on Thursday 23 January 14 23:27 GMT (UK)
Hello,
What a new look! been a while since I popped in - but it is ongoing and always something new to refine, research and look for:
Queiry:
I found a reference in Ancestry: Auguste Friederike Wilhelmine STRIPLING b. 02MAR1846, baptised 09MAR1846 @ St Nicholas STETTIN STADT Pommern Prussia.  The mother was Friederike Wilhelmine STRIPLING.  It stated that it was in birth/baptisms/ 1558 - 1898, film no FHL 561964; 561965; 561966.
How do i access these pages? Where do i find them?  Would a kind soul do this if i cannot?
Thanking You

FHL= Family History Library (LDS commonly known as Mormons- www.familysearch.org)
The numbers 561964; 561965; 561966 refer to specific microfilms which contain those records so to look at the actual records you need to go to your nearest LDS library (they are unlikely to have them in stock but can be ordered for a small fee to view there after they arrive).

If you go to FamilySearch site, click on catalog and put in a film number you can see the listing. For example: 561964
Kirchenbuch, 1618-1944 Author:   Evangelische Kirche. Sankt Nikolai-Johannis-Gemeinde Stettin
(more details by clicking on link)

You can use this page to find the LDS libraries near you-

 :D
Thank you for your answer.  In the mean time I returned to ancestry and eventually found i could look at their transcripts - would i find more information on the films themselves?

Have no idea exactly how complete the Ancestry transcript would be but in general you will often find more in the actual record- as well as being able to search for other relatives in the same Kirchenbuch.
