Hello Everyone,
I'm trying to research my family tree which has roots in East Yorkshire in parishes such as Burton Pidsea, Humbleton and Elstronwick.
Apparently the microfilm records of the parish records for these places are held at East Yorkshire Records Office.
In an ideal world I'd go and make use of their research rooms, but realistically in my current circumstances that isn't going to be possible.
I'm wondering if its possible to pay for copies of the entire parish records, but I have no idea if this is feasible. They are on microfilm, is that even something you can copy?
I know that some of the detail is available on the Family Search website, but I've come to the end of the usefulness of that.
Has anyone here got any experience of this?
Regards,
Ilona

the record office website has details of how to get copies

Hi,
Thanks for that.
It seems from what you linked to that the only way I could do it is getting it from the self service printer. So what I might have to look into is hiring a private researcher to do that for me.
Thank you for your help

have a look at the last point of "Can I get copies" & use the archive service request form.

Ah, I'd taken that to refer to individual documents because it mentioned the catalog. I hadn't considered that they'd do the microfilm.
Well I will send them an email and see if they are willing and able and if it's affordable that's what I'll do.
Thank you again.

If you have a LDS family history centre near you they may have the records you need on film. If not you can order a copy though them to view at you local centre for a small fee (not sure how much this is these days).
The centres also have lots of other resources available and are open to anyone.

A number of years ago I phoned Record Offices up and down the country asking if they sold copies of parish registers on fiche or film.
The results are on
