This is another marriage record I have been unable to find so any help would be much appreciated.
Thomas Richardson and Mary Fay's first known child was born in July 1887. They were living at Sackville Lane, Dublin. Thomas was the son of James Richardson and Ellen Whelan and born in Clarence Street in 1865.

Second part of posting - sorry
I cannot find Mary's birth either and cannot take her line further back.
Any information on either Dublin families would be much appreciated.

Hi Rose
It's me lol
Don't know how I missed this one.
Sorry I'm on my mobile and I can't attach links BUT if you go onto irishgenealogy I'd be 99% sure that Mary Fay Richardson's parents were John Fay and Mary Byrne. If you put those names into the search you will see a baptism match for her and a brother John.
You will also see the marriage for John Junior and he lived on the same lane as Mary when she had her first child ie Seville Lane.

Hi Tara,
Having had a look at what you posted I can see this is the family. I have just given irishgenealogy a good trawl and although I have only found 2 children to John Fay and Mary Byrne (John and Mary) I have found 8 children for John Fay and Mary McDonnell including 2 sets of twins.
One of the children is Christina Fay who was (as Christina Ronan) witness at the wedding of Thomas and Mary's daughter (her cousin) in 1919 and I have her family on the 1911 census.
This all links back to Christopher and Maryanne by their son Peter. Not an easy family and there are so many Fays.
Best wishes

My great grandfather was born in Dublin in 1868, Robert Francis Richardson.
His brother was Thomas Richardson.
This information was obtained through his army pension record on Ancestry.
Any ideas about where I might find his birth certificate?
Regards

Hi There David
Do you have Robert's parent's names ?
Tara
-
I am afraid I don't.
I have a next of kings address in Dublin of his brother Thomas but it has been crossed out.
It looks like 7 Claremont Dublin, but I cannot be sure.
He served in the DublinFusiliers before the Royal Artillery.
-
Did you get Robert's marriage certificate ?
Tara
-
No, but I think that could be the way forward.
I guess the census records for Dublin in 1871 or 1881 are difficult to obtain.

1901 is our first census I'm afraid.
I can see his military records but they look confusing with a lot of crossing out.
I defo think the marriage cert would be your next step.

His second wife was Julia from Limerick, married between 1901 and 1911, she appears on the 1911 census, but having difficulty finding the marriage record.
This is my "birth family" so I am interested in finding out more about my Irish roots.
