I have lost a great uncle in Canada (Montreal, I think). James Alexander McHardy (b.1897) left Scotland in 1924. He arrived in Canada and might have been staying with relatives by the name of Taylor. I know he arrived in Canada, but nobody in the family ever heard from him again. I don't know if it is possible to check records online for Canada, as I live in the UK. Could anyone advise me on this please?
Thank you.

Hi fsmc,
I have also been trying to trace relatives in Canada. Canada has very strict privacy laws and it is extremely difficult to find people. The 1921 Census would be too early. You could try the Canadian Voters List 1935-1980 which is available to search on Ancestry.
