Title: Distribution of Pegg families in Suffolk between 1650-1800
Post by: djpegg on Tuesday 07 January 14 17:55 GMT (UK)
I am very interested in finding out if there were any people with the Pegg(Peggs, Pegge) surname in Suffolk in the 17th and 18th centuries (or before). If you know of any, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. I am wondering how the Peggs were distributed across the eastern midlands. My paper trail ends in 1760 in Cambs, so Suffolk towns near the Suffolk-Cambs border would be particularly interesting. Regards David Pegg

On the Suffolk Baptism Index, the baps from middle to late 1700s take place in villages around Stowmarket, mostly Gt. Bricett, Combs, Haughley, Rattlesden to name but a few.
The index is not complete.

I plot the entries from the Suffolk Burial Index for a name and it's variants. That gives you a very good distribution for the whole of Suffolk.

Hi
I am friends with a Pauline (now married to a Hurren) and Paul Pegg who are from Norwich.  If you would be interested in contacting them please private message me and I will put you in touch.
Dee :)
