Title: Thomas Connolly of Parish of Drumgoon
Post by: Magh Itha on Saturday 04 January 14 19:55 GMT (UK)
Thomas Connolly of the Townland of Drumrooghil, in the parish of Drumgoon was married to Anne Lennon of Bawn, Co. Monaghan. He had a sister Ellen who settled in Downpatrick, Co. Down. Thomas was probably born around 1825 and his father was also called Thomas.
The Census of 1821 shows five Connolly families in the Parish of Drumgoon, and five persons called Thomas Connolly.
There can be no doubt that these Connolly families are connected.
Does anyone have any information on the Connolly families of Drumgoon and how they are connected?

Hi there. I don't know how much information I have but maybe a connection. My third great-grandparent, Lawrence Connolly and Jane McGuire, were in Drumgoon for a bit. I don't know if Jane was from there, maybe Lawrence? There first two children, May Jane (1833) and Patrick (1835) were born in Drumgoon. All subsequent children were born in Belfast, and they did have a son Thomas. I know common name, but it could tie them together.
