Hello
I'm trying to track information on my GGrandfather who served in WW1. I have a possible regiment number for him and it was suggested that I try to find him on the Absent Voters List 1918. He lived in Newport at the time.
Does anyone know if this information is available online? Or how do I go about searching for this?
Many thanks

Hi Murphester
Not sure if the Absent Voters List available online, but there is a copy at Newport Reference Library which I can check for you, maybe the end of this week or during next week,if that is of any help to you?

Hi Steve
I would really appreciate that, if it isn't too much trouble.
I have sent an email to the Gwent Archives but the auto-reply said that they can take up to 10 days to answer me and even then I don't know if they can help (I just found their details online).
What other information would you need from me?
His name is Albert Pullin and at the 1911 census, he is at address 24 Lime Street, Newport. I can only assume that would still be his address in 1918. His wife is Gertrude Lillian (Lily) Pullin.
Let me know if you need anything else.
Many thanks!

Wow, thank you so much Steve. That solves a piece of the puzzle for me. I had a Medals Index Card which I thought could be his, but couldn't be 100% sure without some confirmation of his regimental number.
Can't thank you enough!
