Hi,
Need assistance with Francis Rupert Lucas born South Africa 1882. Died 28/01/1958 in New Zealand. Fought in Boer War ( not sure which side) and for New Zealand in WW 1.
Father Joseph Benton Lucas born May 1854 Warwickshire England, died Beaufort West, Western Cape, South Africa 18/06/1897
Mother Phoebe Williams White born abt 1860, died Western Cape South Africa 1901
Brother. William Benton Lucas born 1880
Sister Eliza Josephine Lucas
Sister Alice Phoebe Lucas
Where does one find info for people in South Africa? I have tried NAAIRS(?) and the above is all I got. I couldn't figure out where or who to go to next.
Regards,
Allyn Hansen

If you go to eggsa.org and search under gravestones, then Benton there is a photograph of the tombstone of Joseph Benton Lucas.
I am not clear on what information you looking for regarding Francis Lucas? Are you looking for birth or marriage certificates, or just information on his involvement in the Boer War. Are you perhaps wanting information on his family as well?

Hi Nookie,
Any information at all on any of them. Francis Rupert is thought to have left the family under a cloud and migrated to New Zealand. I managed to get some references to them all relating to NAAIRS. ITS ALL LISTED IN ANOTHER post I have going. Please check that one too and if you can point me in the right direction of what I do next that would be great.
And thanks for the gravestone tip. I have it now.

If you have more than one topic running about the same family - you need to include the link/links to those topics to help others and avoid duplication of info
This is the link you are referring to

All you need to do is access the post you want to link to and copy and past the URL from your browser into the new post

Hi Nookie,
Yes it dies fit into the family. The 1820 Settlers site has provided me with the only info I can find on the South African side of the family. But what I know is slowly building and I am looking forward to what Gingerbit will find out next year.
