Looked for a possible marriage for Martin Duffy and a Catherine. Two possibilities in Mayo
Marriage index Martin Duffy Ballina reg district Jul Sep 1880 Vol4 page 8 - two possible spouses on same page Catherine Flynn Catherine Ferguson
2nd possibility Martin Duffy Castlereagh reg. district.Oct Dec 1881 vol 4 page 55 a Catherine Murray on
same page.
You would need to get the birth cert of one of the children to confirm Mother's name - Did look for a match with a Catherine McDermott but couldn't find one.

Just looked for a birth/baptismal cert for Sarah Duffy b.c. 1894 on rootsireland. Found a civil record one for Sarah Duffy parents Martin Duffy and Catherine Ferguson in 1894 - It looks very probable - You would have to buy the record to get fuller details - 40% discount at the moment. This would match with the Marriage in Ballina in 1880.
regards

Sean M O'Duffy made another statement in 1951 singing the praises of Detective Joe Cavanagh who frequently warned him about raids that were about to happen that night or next morning thus preventing the capture of his comrades or their execution.Sean is also mentioned in several other statements by other individuals eg Broy and Gay.
