Title: Hand Parentage

Hi,
Can anyone help please with the parentage of a John Hand born approx. 1843 in Staffordshire. He married  Lavinia  Walshaw in 1870 in Newcastle under Lyme. In 1871 census he is a railway guard living in Shelton.
Any help much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi on both the 1871/81 he is born Aston, in 1861 b Aston in Newcastle under Lyme is a 16 year old John Hand, with parents William and Catherine, William is a Railway Plate Layer

1851 in Aston HO107/1996/91/1
1861 in NUL RG09/1917/5/3

But really that marriage certificate would confirm his father and occupation?!

You are right, the marriage cert. will confirm that ! I have it on order but being Christmas the service is a bit delayed.
