For people interested in the information contained in the Minute Book of the asylum 1890-1907 (as discussed on another post) you can now find this in the Archive Department at Stirling University Library. I purchased it from Ebay and donated it to the Archives so that everyone can access it. The archivist says the uni hopes to digitise the records in the future, which will be great news for family historians.

That is a great thing to have done, redquirrel :)

Thank you very much redsquirrel. My great great grandmother died in there in 1903. Now perhaps I can find out more info. Well done you, I am sure many more will be equally appreciative of your generosity.

Fantastic. well done & a great idea! An example as to how such important archives should be looked after; the University Archive have a good online catalogue too.
