Robert Stewart in Glen Fincastle, parish of Dull, Scotland, marriage banns with Isabella McGlashan in Pitagowan, Blair Atholl parish dated 12th December 1813.
They emigrated to Lochaber, N.S. around 1832. He is said to have died aged 90 (obituary - which we can't locate)
The questions is: Is this Robert 'Harry' Stewart whose son William was an Episcopal cleric in PEI, and was the brother of John 'Harry' Stewart?

I don't know if this will help but Donald Whyte's "Dictionary of Scottish Emigrants to Canada..." has an entry for Robert Stewart, probably from Blair Atholl, Perth, son of Robert Stewart to Lochaber, Antigonish, Nova Scotia possibly 1832. There is no mention of Isabella or any children so it's possible this is a different Robert.

You will find the Stewart's buried in North Lochaber Cemetery, Lochaber, Antigonish County. You will have to do a search for the web site as I lost the paper I had it written on. The trasncripts list most of the Stewart's, where from, birth/death/ages and in some cases states husband/wife off or children of.
Another site that could be helpful is

Thanks for your efforts. Most of the Blair Atholl Stewarts have memorial stones in the Lochaber cemetery but we can't find one for Robert 'Harry' Stewart.
A number of years back Andrea Strahl in Colorado USA was looking for a Robert Stewart snr. from Dundavie, Fincastle. It was only recently when we were given the contents of a letter written by one of the original settlers that we were aware that Robert 'Harry' Stewart had a son William aged about 12y at the time of their emigration.
The only William born to a Robert Stewart appears to be the Dundavie entry in the Dull OPR. Andrea claimed that there was an obituary for Robert 'Harry' and that there were 14 children. As Robert is referred to as senior, we assume that there is a son Robert. We also also led to believe that there was a son Alexander (still alive in 1891) who married an Ann McMillan (possibly died between 1881 and 1891).
The 'Harry' part of the name may just be patronymic (possible parents Henry Stewart and Barbara McIntosh), but the “History of Nova Scotia” by David Allison, Halifax 1916 (volume 3, page 681) claimed that John (Robert's brother) was a cousin of Lord Harry - presumably Henry Stewart of Fincastle, but this is hard to verify.

I did see a claim that there was an obituary, but oddly no date of death accompanied the statement...which would presumably be 1879/1880.
This appears to be Robert with Peter and Alexr. as neighbours in 1871

A younger Robert on the next page, born in Scotland, born to late to have been Robert's and he appears to belong to Robert or John Stewart according to his marriage to Christy Stewart.
http://data2.collectionscanada.ca/1871/jpg/4396739_00110.jpg
There certainly are a few gaps where there may be more children...I couldn't see any trees that listed children, let alone 14!
The children listed on the FHS site as christened Dull, Perth, Scotland
Susan Stewart christened 26 May 1815 -parents Robt. Stewart & Isabel Macglashan
Margt. Stewart christened 3 April 1817 - parents Robert Stewart & Isabel Macglashan
Barbara Stewart christened 19 June 1819 - parentsRobt. Stewart & Isabel Macglashan
William Stewart christened 16 July 1822 - parents Robert Stewart & Isabella Mcglashan
Helen Stewart christened 26 August 1823 -parents Robert Stewart & Isabel Macglashen
Isabel Stewart christened 22 October 1824 - parentsRobt. Stewart & Isabel Macglashan
Peter Stewart christened 1 May 1827 - parents Robt. Stewart & Isabel Macglashan
Alexr. Stewart christened 20 May 1831 - parentsRobt. Stewart & Isabel Maclashan

Thanks for your input J.J.
The first entry is definitely Robert 'Harry' Stewart and his two daughters Margaret and Isabella, with his married sons Peter and Alexander living adjacently.
Thanks for confirming the names of the children born in Scotland. We think that Andrea Strahl was mistaking her Sydney with Susan. We cannot recall the forename of Sydney being used in this area.
The first child born in Nova Scotia was probably James (b 1836), and we think that there was a Cecilia who died in 1852 but cannot confirm.
Andrea's line came from Alexander and Ann McMillan, the daughter of Hugh McMillan and Janet McGregor. Salt River??
It's a pity that we can't contact Andrea, but she might be quite elderly by now.
The second Stewart family came from the same part of Blair Atholl parish in Perthshire.
Robert Stewart was the son of 'Deacon' Robert Stewart (Balcastle, Borenich) and Christy Stewart (Chamberbane, Strathtummel). We have a lot of information on these people.
His wife, Christy, was the daughter of James 'Ban' Stewart (Miltown of Borenich) and Janet Stewart (Balcastle). Once again a lot of information on James 'Ban' Stewart is on our web-site.
Thanks again, Throth (www.borenich.co.uk)

This post has been in hibernation for a decade but has woken up again.
We could not find the ancestors of the Harey (in some literature - Hairy) Stewarts in Lochaber who were linked to Glen Fincastle and Strathtummel in Perthshire, Scotland. The two brothers Robert 'Henry' Stewart and John 'Henry' Stewart took us back to Henry Stewart and Barbara McIntosh who were married 25th November 1786 in Dull parish or, at least, had their banns of marriage recorded in the OPR on that day. This 'Harey' or 'Harry' part of their names, used to distinguish them from others in the area with identical names, we concluded as being their father's forename.
The problem was that, although the Dull OPR stretched further back, we could not find a likely baptism for this Henry Stewart and, certainly, no obvious link to the 'Lord' Henry Stewart of Fincastle. Searches for forename beginning 'Hen' (and 'Hend', in case it was a Hendry), gave no results. It was only until a week or so back, that we were directed to a singular baptismal entry for a 'Harry Stewart'. It is highly unusual for the familiar name to be used in the OPRs, so we never thought of searching for a forename beginning 'Ha', but this was the baptisms of the child that we had been seeking. With more research it is now clear that his ancestry was from the Stewarts of Fincastle, but not directly by the 'Lord Henry' of Fincastle.
http://www.borenich.co.uk/Ross_Document/John%20Harry%20Stewart.html
We have only taken the family back a few generations but we trust that it will satisfy our Canadian cousins who now can go back much further.

There were a reasonable number of Baptists in Blair Atholl parish in the early 1800s. The Baptist minister lived in Balintoul, close to the new (Parliamentary) road, south of the castle. The house is still there as a private dwelling, down a side lane which passes the old bakery.
John Stewart and his wife Helen who are buried in the Borenich Burial Ground were Baptists, which probably accounts for there being scant OPR entries for their family. Luckily their son wrote letters containing information about his family and siblings. He lived in Broughty Ferry, just east of Dundee and was the lay minister for the Baptist church on the other side of the river Tay at Tayport.
All of this information is on the Borenich web-site,

I thought you might be happy to have Susan located. ( adding: I couldn't care less re: religious affiliation ) I saw that 3 daughters had survived the father Robert so started looking for her as she was the youngest. Two of the sons outlived him and Peter and Rev. William have passed, so Alexander & ____??? (One of the Nova Scotia born)
Was looking at the marriage for Susan & Allen Stewart & was wondering if it may have been the Baptist Deacon Donald McGregor, born 1806 in Perthshire who signed the marriage bond? Just a thought as he was from the region & also immigrated c. 1832 from Perthshire to South River Lake, where the couple were married.

I have had that census in my tree for years and always wondered who the 'lodger' Bell Stewart was! I don't suppose the census taker would have bothered to enter 'Aunt of wife of head of houshold' though. Thanks for the information and context.

Looking over all of the available material concerning Allan Stewart and Susan Stewart, we are fairly convinced that Susan Stewart was the eldest daughter of Robert Stewart and Isabel McGlashan as it would fit with what we know of the rest of that family.
Allan Stewart has been researched by the descendants but we have some reservations. As there are so few Allan Stewarts (in the whole of Scotland) born around 1813, it is quite likely that Susan's husband was the son of Donald Stewart and Elizabeth Cumming as recorded by the descendants. The family were living in Rannoch at Innerhaddon, so the two families came from the same area and there was a baptist mission in that area.
However, as Familysearch/Trees/Pedigrees warns, her parents could not have been Allan Cumming and Christian McFarlane - she would have been too young.
We would suggest that she was the daughter of Alexander Cumming and Mary Menzies in Torrachruie, born/baptised Fortingall 12th October 1783, the eldest of eight children.
Allan had an older brother, Duncan, b 16th February 1811 and about whom we know nothing. Did he emigrate with Allan?
