Hi everyone
Looking for help with the name Bartlett in Penshurst and Chiddingstone, Kent in the 1841 or 1851 census
The Bartletts in Penshurst that I have are
Elizabeth 1802
Richard 1805
Robert 1807
Mary 1808
Thomas 1812
Henry 1813
Reuben 1816
Martha 1818
George 1821
All are the children of Richard and Anne BARTLETT
I realise that the daughters could be married but if I can find the sons it will help heaps.
Hoping someone might take pity on me

Martha do age 26
Hannah do age 3
Martha do age 1

The only Bartlett found on either census for Penshurst was Hannah, who I assume was Reubens daughter:
ref HO107 1613c folio 724: Salmons Farm Penshurst (1851)
Hannah Bartlett serv un age 13 house servant born Chiddingstone
in the employ of John and Mary Saxby
It would appear that the younger Bartletts all stayed put, but the older ones had already left the area before 1841. Although the quality of both census returns is questionable, I'm pretty certain that I would have spotted more of them, had they been there.
Hope this helps with the research,
xx Carol.

Thank you Carol .......very prompt :)
I felt there had to be more children after Ben Jnr with a 10 year gap, and there was two more!
Kind regards

Any connection to David Jenner born abt 1844 in Chiddingstone? He married Harriet Bridger in 1876. She was my second great grandaunt.

Hi Ian
Sorry I do not have any David Jenner connected to my family but I would not be surprised if David's father (who I think is Abraham) and Benjamin Jenner are not related somehow .
Benjamin Jenner married my Mary BARTLETT
kind regards
