I'm looking for a Bombardier Cheverton. His family Emily (25), William (5), younger Emily(3) and one that would have been on the way (Winifred, not listed) were all living in Woolwich on the 1881 census, and Emily states as her occupation that she is the wife of a Bombardier in the Royal Artillery, so I'm guessing he was probably stationed at Woolwich Arsenal.
Many thanks in advance.

I can't see him at the moment on the census but there is a service record of a William Cherverton in the Royal Artillary onFMP. His wife is listed as Emily Elizabeth and he married without leave on 14 Dec 1876, He joined the RA on 3 March 1874 and was posted to India in 1879
He is listed as born in 1853 in the parish of Whippingham, Newport Hants and was by trade a blacksmith. His father was listed as Henry and sister Emily - Newport Isle of Wight

Edit By 1891 the William and Emily seem to have split and Emily was living as the wife of Thomas W Vivash with children William, Winifred and further child George age 4
