 Hi,George Armstrong was b 24/2/1737 at Haltwhistle and married Jane, i have tried to find her maiden
    name but have failed,too many George and Jane's.

I see at least 6 Janes married to Georges, not sure how many are near Haltwhistle though, can't be that many.

From the list above the nearest place would be Warden 19 Jul 1748 marriage to Jane White, it's about 15 miles from Haltwhistle so not actually that close.

Do you have any children's baptisms which show George & Jane as parents & were they in Haltwhistle? There are baptisms in Haltwhistle on familysearch to a George and Jane starting with Elizabeth in 1749
so that would fit with that marriage date, but it would make George 11yrs of age on marriage unless he was actually baptised much later than his birth.
