Hi, Can anyone make out what this occupation is from the 1841 census looks like ear wright to me
but that don`t make sence any help most appreciated

It's so big it barely fits on my screen! Can you tell us who & where & census reference so that we can see it in context?

Yes it`s a Jonathan Stratford born 1781, registration district Durham and Lanchester, In the hundred of Chester (West Division) Peice 301, Folio 23 P7

I think it may be Engine Wright or some sort of engineer.  Others living in the same dwelling also have engineering jobs.

That`s brilliant thank you that certainly makes more sence than a Ear Wright!
