Hi:

I've been puzzling over this and wonder if it begins with - Cos

Also wonder if it ends with either - ite / ide

and finally, maybe has in the middle - th

But I can't seem to put it together into a name that works  ::) I'll interested in seeing what others decide.

Sami, I have been thinking along the same lines, Cos at the beginning, th in the middle and maybe rde at the end. It could be a dotted i near the end or a mark on the paper

But somehow I don't think Costherde is a realistic name  ::)

I would agree that the name on this GRO certificate reads WETHERILL.

But the online image of the entry in the church marriage register, showing the original signatures, has WETHERILT.

In the 1851 census, she may be the Sophia WETHERILT aged 17 living with parents and siblings at 5 Chapel Street West, St George Hanover Square.

Wetherill didn't work so I will try Wetherilt.  Will let you know if it works.
Cheers
