Hi!
Can anyone help with the following?
I have a William Westrey born circa 1683, possibly at Embleton? William had four children what I can trace:
Thomas Westrey bapt 24 Jul 1706
Mary Westrey bapt 27 Nov 1708
Ann Westrey bapt 2 Feb 1713
John Westrey bapt 8 Sep 1717
Cant find a baptism for William or a marriage as yet. There were a lot of Westrey families living at Embleton at the time?
Mary Westrey (Williams daughter) married a Joseph Studdart (Stoddart/Stoddard) on 18 November 1733 at Embleton and had issue.
Thanks! :)

Are you in the right county here? Embleton is in Northumberland - up on the coast. Is there one in Cumberland too?

Hi!
Yes there is a small village called Embleton near Cockermouth. If you Google Embleton, Cumbria it tells you a little about the village.
Thanks, Andrew :)

May be bit of a stretch but i have my 5th great grandpa (and some other relations after him) name Thomas Westray from that area. He had a son named Thomas too. they name has an A not an E though.
Name Thomas Westray
Birth Abt. 1737
Death 29 Aug 1812
Possible his father was named Thomas who would of been born around then. The spellings can change over time or sometimes be translated wrong. If you need any info let me know.
