Hi

Could anyone help me with this chap, John Collins, b 1818 Bradley Green Worcs and his wife, Elizabeth (nee Crump) b 1817 in Chaddesley Corbett? I would very much like to know their parents and any other (non-census) data about them.

There are two christenings in Chaddesley Corbett on familysearch both with parents Thomas and Hannah, I suspect that the first one may have died in infancy  :-\

Hi Jackie,

In addition, to what Rosie has said, I think you need to look at likely places for John's baptism.  Closest would be Feckenham, Fladbury and if open, the Chapel at Bradley Green it self.

From the transcription registers for Feckenham, there was no John COLLINS baptised.

If not baptised very young he may have been baptised before his marriage.

If you really need to find this you could try the county baptism index, free at The HIVE or by subscription at http://www.fhs-online.co.uk/

Thanks very much both.   I am nowhere near these places, so can't visit, so I just wondered if anyone had transcripts available - thank you for looking at the Feckenham one for me.

If you buy the M/C it will have both Fathers names/occp's.

EDIT, Familysearch has the Marriage taking place 06 Nov 1842 Kidderminster, no extra details.

Maria Penelope CRUMP Christened 17 April 1825, Chaddesley Green, Worcs to THOMAS/HANNAH

1841 Census Thomas CRUMP is born c 1781, living in Chaddesley, Daug Maria with him
1851 he born c 1777, living with Daug Maria now Mrs Cooper

Thanks Trish, I have access to the census records. Might get John & Elizabeth's marriage certificate if no further info emerges from parish records. John's parents are very elusive!
