I think it only applies when you post photos of other people...as this is Steve's own photo he doesn't need to seek permission....that's my understanding of the guidelines.

As a rough guide anything before about 1960 is fine and in this case it does not identify smilers real name so I would have no concerns. The guidelines were put in place to stop people posting pictures of there modern day Grandchildren when they wanted backgrounds changing etc when the main interests on RootsChat is our Ancestors and Historic local heritage.

No Sarah a mates although I was only 15 I 'd been riding a year or more and couldn't wait to ride legally on the road. The bike was a 250cc BSA My first bike on the road was a 500cc Triumph in those days you weren't limited as a learner great times :)
