Title: WW1 grave
Post by: Suzy W on Monday 11 November 13 19:54 GMT (UK)
Good morning

I am looking for Enoch Edward Shaw who died 21 Sep 1918 (France and Flanders) British.. Nothing is coming up on the Commonwealth war graves for this man.
Can someone please have a little look for just in case I am doing something wrong?

Suzy W

Was he Essex regiment? If you search by surname and initial E only - not by two initials  you will get what I think is him.
best Wishes on this Remembrance day.

I just wanted to say I wasn't being lazy in my reply but thought that the original poster would want to be able to find the entry herself as she had previously searched so I didn't type it all out.
Best wishes

Hi Suzy, there is a tree on Ancestry with a lovely photo of him as a young boy, I see he was from my home town, Wolverhampton.

Suzy,

May I inquire as to your interest in Enoch Edward Shaw?  Are you related? He is a distant cousin of mine.  His mother, Julia Gibbons, is the younger sister of my great-grandmother Annie Gibbons.  Julia died in 1905 and Enoch's father re-married.

Enoch Edward would be the grandson to Lavinia Merricks and Enoch Shaw..The Merricks side I trace, I have added children and grandchildren for each family member
