going to London in a few weeks. know granddad was invalided out of WW1 and spend months in hospital. but no idea what his injuries were.
Is there somewhere in London I can look at his full military records

WW1 records that were not destroyed are available on line. If you give details we can look for you.

thanks for your offer just come off phone with his only surviving daughter, whos given me more info so I was able to do a better search and I found it all on ancestry 25 pages!!! had his ear drums blown in by shell attack and fractured his thigh bone in same attack. ancestry told me he was in 3 hospitals before being invalided out with 2/6 shillings pension!. Ive spoken to my aunt before but obviously hadn't asked the right questions!!
