JOHN SMITH b 1933 in Horncastle lincs married SELINA ?? b 1832 born in Newmarket Cambridgeshire or Cambridge ( depending on which census) I cant find the marriage. I thought I had found it 1853 in Horncastle, with selinas father listed as William BURTON. and john as Samuel Smith. however on further investigation they are the wrong family as selina Burton was born in Lincolnshire.
The first child to the marriage was John smith born 1855 in Horncastle and they have 11 other children born in Tetford Lincolnshire
many thanks
Can anyone find the marriage and selina and johns parents
many thanks

What about the 1853 marriage in Horncastle - Fanny Selina Burton on same page
-
1851 census
Living in Great Sturton
Thomas Brackenbury 71
Martha Brackenbury 74
Fanny Burton 15 born Cambridge house servant
William Brownly 44
I notice on one of the cesus there's a daughter of John and Selina called Fanny S Smith , so the marriage that Carole found seems to fit , and to avoid confusion the mother used her second name of Selina

in the 1841 census William and Mary burton( both born Horncastle) have a child named selina who it states was born in Horncastle. the marriage in 1853 seems to pertain to this selina.
MY selina in the 51.61.71.81.91.01,and 11 census all state she was born in Cambridgeshire. but I cant find her in 1841 census

in the 1841 census William and Mary burton( both born Horncastle) have a child named selina who it states was born in Horncastle.
The 1841 does not show specific birthplaces - just whether they were born in the county in which they were living
Have you obtained a copy of one of their childrens birth certs to determine Selina's maiden name ?
