Hi, help needed please with the above, I was given a spouse some time ago for her but not a marriage date, if the notes & records are correct she wed a Joseph Forshaw and stayed in the Prescot area. The last Anc.... record of 1911 she was a servant in a house.
Can any one put me right ? if she wed, a year, and possibly a death year.
Thanks..

LancsBMD has no death indexes for the Prescot Registration District yet. FreeBMD might help
The marriage is noted as a "Registrar or Registrar Attended" marriage. It is likely that by this time a "Registrar or Registrar Attended" marriage was either in the Register Office or in an RC church as many Non-Conformist (Mewthodist, etc.) chapels had an Authorised Person appointed to act for the Registrar

Though the marriage cert will give you proof, this is a very likely candidate for Mary E James in the 1891 Census in Widnes-RG12/3010/97/42.

Hello James2you
There are two deaths recorded for Widnes Cemetary,
1/ Mary E Forshaw, died 29 January 1928, aged 75
2/ Joseph Forshaw. died 23 December 1923,aged 83
Grave location 6U, If I recall this is a communal grave so there will be no headstone.

I don't know if this is relevant to your query, but there were Forshaws living at 14 Elliott Street Widnes until at least the 1960's. I was born next door at No. 12 in 1950, and I was there until 1973. Unfortunately I was not interested in family history in my younger days, so all I can remember about the occupants is that they were two brothers. I am not very good at guessing ages but I seem to recall that they appeared to be as old as my parents, so that would put them as being born in the 1910's. Widnes Library has the electoral registers from the 1930's onwards so you would be able to get their names from that source.
