I am still looking for info on JANE BOYCE nee Walker age 82 who died 15 MAY 1906 in Pontypridd Glamorgan South Wales.
I have a copy of her Death Certificate and Pontypridd Death Reg Details Vol 11a Pg 248 . But in 10 years of researching I have been unable to find her burial site either in Pontypridd area or Somerset area where they came from and her husband is believed to be buried as I have no record of him being in South Wales at the time of his death..
In some early Somersetshire info the name is shown as BOICE instead of BOYCE .
Connections to Evercreech , Ditcheat and West Pennard with my Boyce / Boice families in the late 1700s / throughout the 1800/ 1900s .
Glyntaf or other Cemeteries in the Somerset areas around Ditcheat Evercreech and Bath..
She may be buried with her late husband William Boyce , Joseph William Boyce , William Joseph Boyce or even shown as BOICE instead of Boyce in Somersetshire. He stayed in Somerset when the majority of his family left for South Wales. Jane Boyce was on the 1881 census in Pontypridd without her husband and then on the 1891 census in Pontypridd with her sons and family shown as a "WIDOW " originally from West Pennard.
Any helpers please. !!!
Thanks
Dave Boyce

Thanks Rosie,
In 1891 she was shown as Widow on census form.
Unless she argued with him .
There were 2 william Boyce's in that area the same time only a few years of age apart.
think my William Boyce was born 1816 .

I can only see one William Boyce (with variants) bn 1815 +/- 10 years born Somerset on any of the census. :-\ :-\ Do you have details of the other one on census 51/61/71/81 so that we could eliminate him.
The William that I found in 1881 and 1891 was married and born Ditcheat, there was no wife living with him.
I think it is more likely that they have 'split up' and would be suprised if they are buried together.

There was a William Boyce born approx 1820 who was on trial in Somerset 23 March 1847 Acquital ( HO27, Piece 83 , Page 29 but dont think this is my William Boyce.
Think he may have died in Shepton Mallet Union Workhouse in 1896.
I believe my William Boice is on England Easy 1526603 index IO6937-7
as D.O.B. 13 oCTOBER 1816 Father Edward Boice mother Mary.
There is a William Boyce age 74 married / Labourer on the 1891 census of Shepton Mallet Union Workhouse It looks something like Ditcheat but place was written and written over.

I have been advised that Jane Boyce is buried in Pontypridd but there are 3 possible graveyards near by her home but I have contacted Glyntaf Crem and she is not shown there although there are several Boyce’s buried there.
The most possible on is St Ilan Church up on the top of Eglwysilan mountain between Pontypridd and Caerphilly ( which overlooks their home at Rockingstone Terrace ) . Their records are believed to be held at the Glamorgan Records Office in Cardiff these days. There are also 2 very young children buried there at St Ilan so she maybe with them or nearby them.
I believe that Jane Boyce May be buried at St Ilan church Eglwysilan which is situated on top of the mountain overlooking both Pontypridd and Caerphilly areas.
I have checked at Glyntaf Crem / Church and she is not registered as being buried or cremated there.
Parish of Eglwysilan 1906

Item 613 Jane Boyce aged 85 of Treforest .
Burial undertaken 19th May 1906
Service taken by D Lloyd Rees
But it doesn’t state which church or graveyard she was laid to rest.
The other church is St Mary’s but I have made several attempts to contact those I charge without any success.
