Afternoon
I am married to Lindsay Kirkwood whose grandfather- John Alexander Kirwood was married to Bessie Hunter on 19 July 1905 in Durban South Africa. They had 5 children -4 boys and a girl and farmed in Zululand. I am wanting to trace our family history on both the Kirkwood and Hunter families and would appreciate any info as well. I look forward to your reply.

Hi Debbie, I think we are talking about the same families, how exciting! The side that is of interest to us are the Hunters as all the males in our families have the "Hunter" name as a middle name and it was that connection that we were looking for. My cousin found the following:-
Transcribed from South Africa magazine 26 August 1905
DOMESTIC ANNOUNCEMENTS
KIRKWOODHUNTER AT the Presbyterian Church, Commercial Road, Durban, on the 19th ult., John Alexander Kirkwood, son of John Kirkwood, Kirkwood Avenue, to Bessie, eldest daughter of Thomas Hunter, Leith.
We were sure this was the correct family. My cousin has done further research, what info would you like?

Hi again Debbie,
Do you have a date of birth for Bessie? Do you know the names of her siblings?
