Can anyone help me find information about Captain Sir Harry Heron who, according to a newspaper article in 1804, was given the rank of rear admiral when he was placed on the retired list of captains in 1804. I believe he died in 1819 but not sure of anything else
Thank you

There is a the Will of Sir Harry Heron, Captain of the Navy, Batchelor of Saint Pancras, Middlesex, 04 July 1817, in the National Archives http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/SearchUI/Details?uri=D891959

I can't seem to access the Three Decks website so you may already have the following.
In the Index of Lieutenants' Passing Certificates held at the National Archives, is one for Sir Harry Heron. This is in ADM 107/5 page 392, and should contain details of his service prior to passing as a Lieutenant.
