Title: Midleton Workhouse
Post by: AlanR83 on Sunday 20 October 13 19:26 BST (UK)
Hello,

I have an ancestor who died of illness in Midleton workhouse in 1876, does anyone know where they buried people who died here? His wife and children were not in the workhouse, I think he was only in there due to his illness.

Yes I contacted them however the records for the workhouse from the period 1870 - 1873 are missing, my ancestor died in Feb 1873 (1876 below is a typo) - so they cannot help me. They also did not know where the workhouse buried its inmates they said ask locally. My ancestor was from Mogeely and he was not buried in the family plot, he died of TB so I think that may have been the reason he did not go into the cemetery in Mogeely, I would like to know where the workhouse buried most of its occupants.
