Title: Winston Parish Records - TILL

I have a marriage between my 3x great grandparents Samuel Rowe & Hannah Till at Winston 14 Dec 1821. The brickwall I have is, who are Hannah's parents???

Hannah appears to have died in Winston 1848. The 1841 census gives her age as '35' so DOB c1802-1806. Don't know if her place of birth was Winston though .....

Can anybody help on this?

Hannah was buried 11.9.1848 at St Andrews Winston and shown as aged 46

Hi,

In case you don't have it, there is a Samuel Rowe buried 22-11-1860 aged 71 Winston, St.Andrew.
(Taken from the Suffolk Burial Index ex SFHS).

Hi

There are no TILL burials recorded in Winston on the Suffolk Burial Index, which might suggest her family came from elsewhere.  There are a few TILL burials in nearby Stonham Aspall & there was a couple married about the right time to be her parents:
Christopher TILL & Bridget (WELLS) married 3 Jan 1788 in Stonham Aspall. A Bridget was buried on 9 Nov 1812 age 48 at Stonham Aspall but no sign of  Christopher's burial in Stonham Aspall but there is one in Earl Stonham buried 8 May 1864 age 75. 

Perhaps someone could check the Stonham Aspall PRs for you.

if Christopher & Bridget come up trumps as Hannah's parents then the previous generation could be Christopher & Sarah

Christopher TILL of Creeting St Mary  married Sarah POLLARD 2 Jan 1756 at Stonham Aspall.
Christopher TILL buried 15 Feb 1798 age 71 Stonham Aspall
Sarah, wife of Christopher, buried 25 Nov 1808 age 74 Stonham Aspall

I was hoping for some Winston marriage banns etc to give a link to Hannah's parents.

Good idea about putting another request re Stonham Aspall. I shall give it a go!

Just found this entry in the Stonham Aspal baptism entries;

20-5-1804 Hannah d/o Christopher & Bridget Till (late Wells) born 22 April.

also Christopher Till bapt. 1-5-1760 s/o Christopher (No mother's name listed) in Stonham Aspal

Taken from the Suffolk Baptisms Index CD (1754-1812) issued by the SFHS.

Thanks for the baptism date with the DOB - I am assuming 22 April is also 1804 which is contrary to her date at death in 1848. I think I may get her death certificate...may not show much but ......
