Hello
I have been tracing the Miles family and have hit a brick wall! Please could someone help me?

I would like to know the names of the parents of Joseph Miles b.1715 (?) - 2/2/1795. He married Mary Martha Bartholomew on 8/7/1739 at St Mary's in Speen.

He might have been born in Sydmonton, so the Hampshire Record Office might have the baptism record - I'm not sure but I will check there.

His children were Sarah Miles (b.1748 -); John Miles (b. 1750-) and Joseph Miles (1753-1809). I'm not sure if Sarah and John are correct though.

Hi

The Hampshire Baptism Index (1660-1753) has this baptism:-

11 Jan 1712/13-Joseph MILES s John & Ann at Basingstoke

Sydmonton did not have it's own registers at that time and would come under Kingsclere

John Lewis site http://startx.co.uk has Joseph Miles on it with forward, but no backward links. Asking the question there, or on the Kingsclere Rootsweb list might produce something.
Hampshire Rootschat members might also be able to help, if you haven't already done any of these things.
