Looking for SKS who goes to the record office and could spare some time to look at the death/burial registers for me.
I think my g/g/g/grandfather Richard SUDBURY died sometime after the 1851 census and before the 1861 but can't find anything in the online GRO index. He was born Costock 1802 and I have his christening, marriage details, 1841 and 1851 census.
Any help much appreciated.

I can check PRs at Loughborough for the surrounding area (l'boro & villages )
where was he living 1841/51 please.
Diddy

that's very kind of you Diddy. The family were in Wellington Street in 1841 and 1851.

i checked freebmd - think you already did - nothing showing for a Richard Sudbury or variations in leics /Notts. only one 1851/61 is in barnsley!
unfortunately burial indexes in L'boro do not cover those dates so would mean extensive trawling through all PRs.
he is also not in 1854 L'boro directory - william sudbury, joiner is there - brother??
are you sure he didn't emigrate / move to another part of Country?

Yes Diddy, William is his brother. I don't think Richard left the area and I'm assuming he died between 1851 and 1861 because his son William, my g/g/grandfather turns up in Liverpool in 1861, his half sister Mary E is with her late mother's sister and half brother Edward is in Derbyshire.
thank you for looking.

Not sure if this is the same man,
Leicester Journal Friday 31 May 1861:

"On the 21st inst, Mr Richard Sudbury, formerly of Loughborough, aged 52 years"
Also in other newspapers, but no further details

I have Richard Married to Ann Lacey but he is recorded as a widower 1840. Where did he marry first?
-
His first wife was my 3x great grandmother Harriet DEXTER who he married at St Margaret's Leicester in 1836. It's his death I can't find for certain.
thanks
