Hi,
Does the red writing with the number '800' mean anything significant next to the word 'Russia' on the Birthplace column of the 1911 census. I am still trying to discover where in Russia they came from.

Hi I just Googled Numbers on 1911 census, loads of info 800 represents Russia (including Russia in Asia) Foreigners Residents

This is the coding system done after the census was taken to collect and sort the infomation for official purposes, these are the birthplace codes
800 means Russia (including Russia in Asia) Foreigners Residents
